Release of new album – “Ultramarino”
“Ultramarino” is the name of the new work by Fred Martins that arises from the meeting with producer and sound engineer Hector Castillo (winner of 4 Latin Grammys and collaborator of David Bowie, Björk, Lou Reed and Philip Glass, among others).
Launching on May 7, 2021 – Pre-save at linktr.ee/fredmartins.
The theme for this album is to enhance the plot created by Fred Martins in his voice & guitar performance (always recorded at the same time) and insert details of acoustic and electronic instruments, reaching an oneiric and intimate atmosphere.
Ultramarino gathers songs composed in the initial years when Fred lived between Portugal and Spain. The repertoire, which has as its guiding thread its Rio de Janeiro musical base of bossa nova lineage, also moves through the blues and, more intensely, through the sound of Moorish influence (Arabic). In this context, it activates elements of genres such as fado and flamenco and reaffirms the musical connection between Africa, the Iberian Peninsula and Brazil.
The album Ultramarino will be released simultaneously by Biscoito Fino and the European label Alfa Music.
